11 young people participated in "Musical" day camp where they learned acting skills as they prepared to present a drama. The end product was really good. Parents and others were impressed by the quality of the performance after only 4 days of practice. We hope that many more young people will join us next year for the camp!

This Father's day we enrolled our newest soldier at Yorkwoods Community Church.

On Thursday June 18th, the Miracle Junior Wind Orchestra performed before they took a break for the summer. They did an excellent job, considering most of them are new to playing music and we are looking forward to their return in september.

On May 30th, 2026, 21 students, aged 9-15, presented their business plans to a panel of 5 judges, who asked the students questions about their business proposals. This was the culmination of 15 weeks of hard work, where the students, aged 9-15, lead by volunteer mentors, set up a temporary business that had the possibility of turning into a permanent business. These young entrepreneurs, in gourps of 4 or 5, came up with an idea, produced a prototype, tested the market in a sale, and produced a business plan. They then presented their business plan to a panel of judges, all of whom are in business or are entrepreneurs. First, second and third place prizes were awarded. The judges were impressed with the quality of their presentations and amazed at the answers they received for their questions. As well as the award, the young people got to keep their profits from the sale of their products. Along with learning about a business they also learned Bible lessons about handling money God's way. The theme this year was taken from Galatians 6:7-10 " Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows..." The General of the Salvation Army, Lyndon Buckingham, did a 2 week tour of Canada in April - May 2026. On May 3, The General spoke at a united gathering in Toronto of Salvation Army Corps from around the GTA. Our corps rented a bus to transport the congregation over to hear the General speak. His message was inspiring as he asked us to keep our eyes on Jesus and let Jesus lead us into what He wants us to do. For an more in-depth information go to: https://salvationist.ca
